Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use UntoldToYou. We have tried to keep them short and clear.

Who we are

What UntoldToYou does

UntoldToYou lets you prepare letters, photos and videos for people you choose, and keeps them sealed. You confirm from time to time that you're here. If you stop confirming, we remind you over several weeks; if you still don't confirm, your recipients receive a short advance notice and, 14 days later, a link to open what you prepared.

You can pause confirmations, change the interval, edit your messages and recipients, or stop the process at any moment before delivery by confirming that you're here.

Not a legal will

UntoldToYou is not a will, has no legal effect over property or inheritance, and does not replace legal advice. Do not use it for instructions that must be legally binding.

Your account and your keys

You must be at least 18 years old and give a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping access to your email.

Your vault password and recovery code are known only to you. We cannot reset them or recover your messages without them. Keep your recovery code safe.

Your content

What you write and upload remains yours. You allow us only to store it in encrypted form and to deliver it to the recipients you chose.

You are responsible for your content. Do not use UntoldToYou for anything illegal, to harass or threaten anyone, or to share content you have no right to share. Because we cannot read your messages, we rely on you for this; if we receive a credible report of abuse, we may suspend the account involved.

Recipients

You confirm that you may use the email addresses you give for your recipients, and that you keep them up to date. Delivery depends on those addresses working.

Delivery and availability

We take great care to deliver messages as you set them up, but email delivery also depends on providers we do not control, and we cannot guarantee that a message will be received or opened. We may change, improve or interrupt parts of the service; when a change affects you significantly, we will tell you in advance.

Price

If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you in advance, and you will never be charged without agreeing to it first.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you when possible.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the law of the country where you live. Disputes go to the competent courts in Bucharest, unless the law gives you the right to another court. You can also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform.
